Will Samsung, HTC, Motorola and Sony Phones get Jelly Bean?
Today is a big Jelly Bean day and thus we are still posting details about Jelly Bean and providing our readers with all the possible details about the new Android platform. Google Nexus 7 will be the first tablet to run this device. However soon after this there are many other Android devices in the line to receive this amazing and delicious update. Google has already made an official announcement that Nexus S, Motorola Xoom and Galaxy Nexus will receive an official Jelly Bean 4.1 update in July. But Jelly Bean ROMs have already started coming up via developers.
Now, when will the biggies like Samsung, Motorola and Sony roll Jelly Bean update is something we can only speculate and anticipate at this point in time. We can not confirm the same.
In the words of Samsung, “In the case that a new version of an Android operating system is publicly announced and released, Samsung will review the possibility of implementation to existing Samsung products with the Android operating system (‘Update’).”Such a review will be based on various factors including, the overall effect of the update to Samsung products, the system requirements, the structural limitations, and the level of cooperation from the component suppliers and the software licensors.” If Samsung decides to make the update available to the users it will be released upon successful completion of development.” What we understand from this statement is, Jelly Bean update for Samsung phones is somewhere on the road map of Samsung. But when it will be is still the question. Reminding you again that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean would be rolled on for Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus in the mid-July.
As far as mobile makers like Sony is concerned, there is no official statement from the company. But looking into the way Sony handles such developments, we estimate that there is still some more time Sony phone users will have to wait. Just a few days back we witnessed ICS update on Xperia phones. So Jelly Bean for Sony phones is still a long way.
HTC is still not in mood of making any statement on this. Even though HTC claimed that Google’s step of unveiling Jelly Bean 4.1 is quite appreciable.
Motorola’s plans for Jelly Bean update are yet under the wraps. The only fact we know is Google has made an official announcement that Jelly Bean will be released for Xoom tablet in mid-July.
LG has plans to provide Jelly Bean update for all 2012 LG phones. This was a promise LG had made in February and now we have no choice but to wait and watch.
We will surely provide you more updates on this as and when we get the same. So just stay tuned and also provide your feedback on this.
