And now, when the news that T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G SGH T769 on Android 2.3.6 can be rooted came out, users could not control their happiness. Now, Blaze 4G has finally received root access because of developer k0nane who has a reputed name in XDA Developers’ forum. We also appreciate work of developer shabbypenguin who has released ClockworkMod Recovery for T-Mobile Galaxy S Blaze 4G. In this article, we will show how to root T-Mobile Galaxy S Blaze as well as ClockworkMod Recovery. But before that, please go through the disclaimer.

How to root T-Mobile Galaxy S Blaze 4G

  1. First, download the files as given below:
    ODIN 1.85
    Rooted kernel TAR
    PIT file
  2. Now, extract the contents of ODIN’s zip file on your PC. Launch ODIN 1.85.exe.
  3. After you are done with the above 2 steps, just enable auto-reboot. Uncheck everything else that may be there. Be very specific in unchecking repartition option. This is because, if you forget to uncheck Repartition option then you will end up bricking up the device.
  4. Now, in ODIN click on PDA and make selection of the TAR file that you had downloaded in Step 1.
  5. Do you remember, in step 1 you had also downloaded PIT File? Click on that as well.
  6.  Turn off the handset now.
  7. Now, take USB data cable, but we will use only the end of the cable. Connect the USB data cable with PC only.
  8. Remove the battery and put it again in the device.
  9. Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons together and hold for a while. This will help in connecting the device with PC. You will now enter into the Download Mode. Leave the buttons after this.
  10. Now, ODIN will be able to detect your handset.
  11. In the ODIN, click on start.

 

Congrats your device will be rooted and it will reboot on an automated basis. Once your phone is rooted, you can also install ClockworkMod Recovery too. Here is how.

Procedure to install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy S Blaze

Before installing clockworkmod, do checkout our article on advantages of Clockwormod Recovery.

  • Download ClockworkMod Recovery TAR and Root PIT File
  • Click on PDA and make selection of TAR file. In the same way click on PIT and make selection of the PIT file.
  • Turn off the handset now.
  • Now, take USB data cable, but we will use only the end of the cable. Connect the USB data cable with PC only.
  • Remove the battery and put it again in the device.
  • Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons together and hold for a while. This will help in connecting the device with PC. You will now enter into the Download Mode. Leave the buttons after this.
  • Now, after the above steps, click on Start in ODIN and this will start the flashing process. Once its finished, CWM should be installed on your phone.
