How to Root Galaxy Y Pro B5510
Before you proceed further, we would recommend you to read our Tips and Precautions before rooting a phone.
The very first thing that is needed in this is the updated drivers from Samsung. You will be able to automatically install them by installing Samsung Kies.
There is no need for the data wipe and thus there is not much importance allotted to the back up part. But still to play a safe game we recommend to take you must take data back up for the phone. Also charge your phone to at least 50% or more.
Now, comes the main point and that is downloading the universal_gb_root_v16.zip from the link that will be given in the end of this article. (Kindly note that, this method is for all those who are using Gingerbread and can’t root phone with Superone Click)
Now, after you download the zip, enable USB Debugging on your device. You can do this in this manner: Settings > Applications > USB Debugging and checking the tickbox next to it.
Connect your Android device to the computer having Windows.
Now, moving further you can put your device in USB Storage Mode (by selecting USB storage when the device prompts to make the selection of the connection) and copy the universal_gb_root_v15.zip file you downloaded above to the topmost folder on your Sd card
Now disconnect your handset and turn it off.
When your phone is switched off you need to put the device into Recovery Mode. For this you must hold Volume up and Home buttons simultaneously and along with that press the Power button also. As soon as the device boots into recovery, leave the buttons.
You will get the Recovery Menu, and in that you must select ‘apply update from SD card’. Now, your volume up and volume down button will help in navigation and Home button will help in making selection of the option.
So now, you can navigate to universal_gb_root_v15.zip and select it by using Home button.
Have some patience now for a couple of minutes till you get the message ‘Install from SD complete’.
From the options as available, you can select ‘reboot system now’.
Once the device is booted you will see that your Galaxy pro B5510 will get rooted. Just search for the Superuser app. If it is there, it means that your phone is rooted successfully.
